Our year in review: Idyll Wine Co
2019 has been a big year for our team at Idyll Wine Co - our biggest year to date! Idyll Wine Co now proudly employs over 100 staff members from winemaking and logistics to administration and product development.
Reflecting on 2019
In the 2018/2019 financial year, we produced 21 million bottles of wine at our Moorabool Valley facility. The wine produced at Idyll Wine Co is consumed Australia wide and internationally, and includes the Idyll range, as well as Arcadian and many private labels.
Our Moorabool Valley winery and winemaking facilities have seen a huge redevelopment this year, with the reworking of our grape crushing area to increase our wine storage capacity. We now have more than 100 tanks, with the tallest standing at 14 metres high. Our wine tank farm is capable of holding 25 million litres of wine.
In addition to increasing our wine production and bottling capacity, we’ve ventured in some new directions with the installation of a canning line for wine, cider and RTDs. We also built a new warehouse for increased storage and stock management to better streamline our logistics.
New Idyll Wine Co products
In November we officially launched our first ever estate grown sparkling wine; the Idyll Geelong Blanc de Blanc. This is exclusive to the Idyll cellar door, open Monday- Friday throughout the entire holiday season (excluding public holidays and weekends).
The end of 2018 saw the launch of our sister company Monkeyshines Brew Co, which has proven popular at Liquorland this year. We launched two new Monkeyshines products in 2019; the Fat Pixie Low Sugar Watermelon Hard Cider and Fat Pixie Low Sugar Strawberry and Lime Hard Cider. Three million Monkeyshines Brew Co cans of cider and ginger beer have been produced this year and sold Australia wide.
Additionally, we launched social media accounts for Monkeyshines Brew Co. Follow Monkeyshines Brew Co on Facebook and Instagram for some exciting news coming early 2020!
